Simple and not complex to make, steak bites area must have for both indoor and outdoor parties.  All you have to do is season the beef with your favorite seasonings, pierce them with little toothpicks and serve them beautifully in a platter.  But wait a minute, you can have a very interesting sauce at the side—Bloody Maria.  If you are an avid fan of Halloween, this is just perfect to go with your steak bites.

Ingredients

For the steak bites:

  • 2 lbs. of beef top round, cut into about 1 inch cubes
  • Olive oil
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper, freshly ground

 

For the sauce:

  • 1 cup red wine (your choice)
  • 2 tbsp. of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. of hot sauce
  • ½ of a small onion, finely minced
  • 1 tsp. of olive oil
  • Kosher salt
  • Pepper

 

Directions

For the steak bites:

  1. Put iron skillet over high heat and drizzle with oil.
  2. Season meat with salt and pepper and toss into the skillet. Make sure that you properly coat the cubed beef with the seasonings.
  3. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until they are cooked through and meat juice together with oil has caramelized.
  4. Pierce with toothpicks or small skewers that could hold the cubed meat properly.

 

For the sauce:

  1. Put saucepan over a medium heat and pour oil.
  2. Add the minced onion, season with salt and pepper and sauté onions for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the red wine and let it simmer until it is half amount.
  4. Add the three kinds of sauces—Worcestershire, tomato and hot sauce—and then bring again into simmer.
  5. Put salt and pepper if desired just to bring out the taste.
  6. Serve with the steak bites and enjoy the party!
